The pupils visited the coast to see the way human impact nature.
They went to a Nature Interpretive Centre where they have the possibility to participate in activities related to the environment.

Science experiments
The pupils students become real scientists for a day! Through fun, hands-on, and safe experiments, they explore fundamental concepts in physics, chemistry, and biology in an interactive and engaging way.
During the activity, participants observe chemical reactions, build simple experiments, make predictions, draw conclusions, and develop critical thinking and scientific curiosity.

Hands' washing day
The pupils talked about the importance of washing their hands.
They prepared posters to show their learning to the other kids.
School trip
The pupils visited a centennial tree and participate in a peddy paper about local nature.
They also visit an in vitro micropropagation of plants company where they have the possibility to see the process of propagate a plant in a lab and their growth in a greenhouse.
January
World Environmental Education Day
Members of the Portuguese Civil Protection visited EDIFACOOP in order to demonstrate how to eliminate forestry wastes instead of burn them.
They bring a grinder and explain how it works.
The grounded waste was used to fertilize other plants.

Science experiments: snow
Pupils played with artificial snow and created snowmen.
Carnival
This year our Carnival theme was Science.
Pupils dressed like scientists and inventions.

Recycling day
The school organized a recycling activity where students created artistic items and costumes using recyclable materials. The goal of the activity was to educate students about sustainability and the importance of reusing materials rather than discarding them.
This hands-on experience helped students understand how recycling can be both fun and meaningful. It showed them that with a little imagination, we can give new life to old materials and help take care of our planet.

Recycling Activity
As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental education, our students had the opportunity to participate in a special theatrical activity focused on recycling and sustainability. The play was performed in the school auditorium and brought powerful messages about environmental responsibility to life in an engaging and accessible way.
The interactive performance encouraged student participation, allowing them to reflect on their own impact on the environment and how small actions can lead to big changes.
This creative approach to learning left a lasting impression and inspired our students to become more conscious and responsible in their daily lives. Activities like this play a vital role in shaping a generation that cares deeply about the world we live in.
Discover Vizela: Nature, Wellness, and the Power of Water
Pupils began the day with a refreshing nature walk, where they explored the beauty of the local trails, listened to the sounds of the forest, and enjoyed the fresh air in good company.
After the hike, kids visited the historic thermal baths of Vizela, where the children learned a bit about the healing properties of the local waters and the history behind the thermal tradition in the region.
To end the day on a high note, we headed to the mini-golf course, where fun and friendly competition brought lots of smiles. The children loved the challenge, and it was a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors together.
This special day in Vizela gave the kids a chance to explore, learn, and most importantly — have fun in a healthy, meaningful way. We can’t wait for the next adventure!
Visit to a Biological Park
As part of an environmental education activities, students visited the Parque Biológico de Gaia. This park is dedicated to nature conservation and environmental awareness, offering visitors the opportunity to observe native Portuguese species in habitats similar to their natural environment.
During the visit, students explored different areas of the park, learned about local wildlife, and discovered the importance of protecting biodiversity. They were able to see various animals, plants, and traditional rural landscapes, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
The visit helped students better understand the importance of sustainability and caring for the environment.

Pupils visited a forest park.
The visit was extremely enriching for all students and teachers, allowing us to gain a close understanding of the essential work being done in the preservation and management of forest resources.

Healing Waters, Family Moments
Pupils and their families had the opportunity to take a break from the daily routine and immerse themselves in a relaxing and rejuvenating experience surrounded by nature.
They started the day with a walk through peaceful trails, where they could enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the landscape. After the walk, it was time to unwind and recharge in the soothing thermal baths, known for their therapeutic properties.
But the fun didn't stop! Families also enjoyed a friendly round of mini golf, and later, they visited a local Recreational and Musical Association, where they got a taste of local culture, music, and community life.
Throughout the day, there was time to socialize, share meals, and simply enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed atmosphere.

Erasmus and European Day at school
This school proudly participates in Erasmus projects that promote cultural exchange, cooperation, and learning between European countries. Through these projects, students have the opportunity to develop new skills, share experiences, and learn about different cultures and traditions.
They celebrated Europe Day. This special day allowed students to explore European values, diversity, and the importance of collaboration among nations.
These activities help strengthen the sense of European citizenship and encourage openness, respect, and international friendship.
Celebration of animals
Pupils made an exhibition about autumn animals. They learn that during this season, many animals change their habits to get ready for winter.
The fox grows thicker fur to stay warm and spends more time hunting for food before the cold arrives. The hedgehog eats a lot in autumn to build fat and then goes into hibernation during the winter. The squirrel collects and hides nuts in different places so it can find food when it is cold and snowy.
In this exhibition, we showed pictures and facts about how these animals adapt to autumn and how everyone can help protect their habitats. It was interesting to learn how nature prepares for the change of seasons.

Visit to SeaLife Porto and Pavilhão da Água
Students went on an educational field trip to SEA LIFE Porto and the Pavilhão da Água.
At SEA LIFE Porto, students had the opportunity to explore a fascinating underwater world and observe a wide variety of marine species up close. The visit helped them better understand marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and the importance of ocean conservation.
At the Pavilhão da Água, they engaged in interactive exhibits and hands-on activities focused on the importance of water and sustainability. Through dynamic and educational experiences, students were able to deepen their knowledge of science in a fun and engaging way.
This field trip was a valuable learning experience, combining education and discovery while encouraging curiosity and environmental awareness.

Visit to Pé Descalço
At the Pé Descalço Center in Ponte de Lima, pupils reconnect with nature through walking and exercises on grass, sand, stones, and wood. Each step awakens the senses, improves balance, and strengthens body awareness. The center combines movement, mindfulness, and environmental appreciation, creating a unique space where feet and nature meet.
