Attend daily and be on time. Check Google Classroom for work missed. It is your responsibility to make sure you catch up.
Come prepared. You will need a writing utensil, your binder, your independent reading novel and earbuds/headphones.
Respect your teacher, classmates, and surroundings.
Regulate your volume during learning and work time. Don’t interrupt others. Don’t damage things that don’t belong to you. If you notice something is broken when you go to use it(e.g. tech), let Ms. Stears know right away.
Any language that is hurtful or derogatory will not be tolerated.
Personal electronics need to be away during class. You may use your cellphone to listen to music when you want to block out distractions during workshop time. Earbuds are out of your ears during discussions or instructional time.
Take responsibility for yourself and your learning. Don’t make excuses. If you didn’t do it, own up to that. If you aren’t working at your best, admit it. If you break the rules, don’t point at all the other students also breaking the rules. Own your own behaviour.
Take a washroom break when you need it. You don’t have to ask me, as long as you aren’t abusing this privilege. Simply sign out and then back in on the Google Form Hall Pass at the top of Classwork in Google Classroom.
If you disrupt the learning in our classroom, space will be provided for you in the office for you to work.
I don’t want you to miss any learning, so you’ll make up the lesson and work time at lunch the following day with me. This is non-negotiable.
