The Arts Curriculum and the Design Technology Curriculum are in line with the Australian Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme curriculum framework.
The Arts and Design Technology faculties offer a wide range of courses where students have the opportunity to design, create, make, present and reflect.
Students’ work is displayed throughout the school and is presented at school functions.
Students undertake introductory units in the Arts (Drama, Beginner Ensemble, Music, Visual Art, Dance) and Design Technology (Food Design, Metal design, Wood Design, Digital Technology). Students will not choose electives from 2023 onwards. Instead, they will cycle through each of the electives options, in term long units, to give them a taste of everything on offer. This will allow them a better understanding of our courses prior to choosing in Year 9 and 10.
Students in Year 7 wanting to pursue their musical interests may choose the Junior Ensemble.
Please note: class sizes are limited to 24 students in some courses due to occupational and safety requirements.
