Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

The children enjoyed working with Drax this week. We looked at pulleys and levers and how these are used in the power station. 

Next week: 

PSHE: we will be learning about how people may try to gain power, focusing on grooming both online and in the real world. 

English: we will be continuing our narrative based on a child working in a Victorian mill. 

Maths: we will be exploring coordinates

Curriculum: We will be looking at primary sources to see what affluent people did during the Victorian era

Science: The children will be learning about how  diet, exercise and lifestyle impact on our bodies

P.E is on Tuesday and Thursday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework will be set this week.

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
