Good afternoon,
The Year 4s had a brilliant time at Murton Park on Monday! All the children were incredibly enthusiastic and truly shone as representatives of Staynor Hall. In English, the children wrote their independent Toy Story inspired narratives where they had changed some characters and parts of the plot. The children worked hard to ensure they were using inverted commas for speech and punctuating their direct speech correctly. In Science the children learnt about the parts of a flower and their role in pollination and used some real lilies to see these parts up close.
Coming up next week:
Friday 19th June is a teacher training day.
Next week will be our final challenge papers of the year! Thank you for all your continued support in your children’s learning; reading together, practicing their arithmetic skills, practicing sentences and writing different texts together and practicing spellings -it really makes a big difference in supporting their progress!
English: Children will begin a new narrative theme, inspired by a video.
Maths: We will be completing our challenge papers.
PE Year 3 & 4: Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
PSHE Year 3: To know how some of the actions and work of people around the world help and influence my life. To know how my needs and rights are shared by children around the world and can identify how our lives might be different.
PSHE Year 4: To know and recognise how friendships change, know how to make new friends and how to manage when I fall out with my friends. To know how to show love and appreciation to the people and animals who are special to me.
