Good afternoon,
We have had a fantastic week in LKS2 this week! The children have shown real empathy and understanding towards our charity focus of homelessness. It was fantastic to invite wonderful local charity Sleepsafe into school to talk with the teams about the work they do and we are so excited to do a donations drive to support them in their life changing work! We are collecting donations of toiletries, tinned foods and clothes until Friday 7th November. There are donation boxes in the family room or your child can bring them into the classrooms if you are able to contribute to this. Thank you so much for supporting this great cause.
Week after half term:
We have got a DT day on Tuesday and an art day on Thursday. Please can children come in old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty on both of these days.
On Thursday 6th November, we will be having a LKS2 Art day where children will be using paper mache. For this, your child will need a tissue box. Please can you send your child into school after half term with a tissue box sized box and some spare cardboard - any shape or size. Please can we ask that these boxes/cardboard have not contained any nut or dairy products to cater for our allergies in school.
We will also need newspaper for the children to use for paper mache if you have any going spare!
English: We will be practicing some key grammar and punctuation skills.
Maths: We will be practicing some key arithmetic skills.
PE Year 3: Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
PE Year 4: We go swimming on Wednesday. Children need to come to school in their uniform and bring their swimming kit in a bag. Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework
The children have worked extremely hard during this first half term and deserved a well earned rest so there will be no homework set over the holidays other than enjoying Autumny activities and some Halloween treats!
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
LKS2 Team
