Good afternoon,
As we come to the end of a very busy and exciting term, we would like to take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful learning and experiences the children have enjoyed.
The children were absolutely delighted to take home their Easter Reading Bunnies and share their adventures with you. It has been so lovely to see the photos and hear the children confidently talk about what they got up to at home – they were incredibly proud and enjoyed sharing these special moments with their friends.
This week, we have begun learning about the Easter story, exploring its meaning in a way that is accessible and engaging for the children. We will continue to build on this learning during the first week back after the holidays. The children had a fantastic time parading their creative Easter bonnets and taking part in our whole-school Easter egg hunt, which brought lots of excitement and smiles all around.
In Maths, we have been focusing on using part–part–whole models and practical resources such as cubes to help us recall number bonds to 5. The children are developing a strong understanding of how numbers can be split and combined, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence grow.
In Phonics, the children are making great progress and are becoming much more confident when reading longer and compound words. It is fantastic to see them applying their skills independently. The children have now brought home their new reading books, and we kindly encourage you to continue practising regularly over the holidays, as this really supports their progress.
We are so proud of all the children for their hard work this term. Thank you, as always, for your continued support – it makes a real difference.
We hope you all have a lovely, restful Easter break and look forward to welcoming everyone back soon.
Warm regards,
The Reception Team
