Good afternoon,
The children have loved learning about Vik Muniz, a Brazillian artist who uses unusual media to create collage. We have explored using salt, sugar, cornflour and other materials to make a collage linked to Brazilian culture.
For homework this week, children need to research about a person of their choice, who they view as being influential and inspiring to them. This can be a family member or a famous person, who is appropriate. They will be using the information to write a biography about their chosen individual.
Next week:
English: we will be writing biographies about a chosen influential person.
Maths: we will be deepening our understanding of algebra.
Curriculum: we will be starting our new topic on 'When is mother nature not kind?' and we will be looking at what an earthquake is.
Science: the children will be comparing life cycles.
PSHE: we will be looking at prejudice views and how having assumptions can lead to misunderstanding and stereotyping.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mrs Danbury
