Team aire, wharfe & ouse (Year 1 & year 2)

Good afternoon, 

This week, Team KS1 loved launching their new topic 'Who are the world's explorers?'. We saw some suspicious goings on in our field in the form of a spacecraft and have become little explorers ourselves!

Writing

We've started to write recounts of what happened on the field to inform Mrs Winter and Mr Welburn. Next week we will be writing a recount about what we did over the weekend. 

Maths

Year 1 have begun their new topic of time - including days of the week. 

Year 2 have been adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers within 100 and learning how to bridge over the multiples of ten. We will continue to look at shape and money too. 

Homework

3 x reading - we ask your child to read three times a week at home and record this in your reading record. 

We also encourage your child to 'read for pleasure' at home. This can come in the form of story books, chapter books, information texts, magazines, ebooks. Please add any additional reading to your child's reading record as we love seeing the variety of texts your child is accessing out of school.
