STAYNOR HALL ACADEMY NEWSLETTER
Friday 31st January 2025
Dear Families,
It's been wonderful to see so many of our families in school this afternoon for open classrooms, thank you for taking the time to come and speak to your child about their learning and for joining in with them!
Thank you also for the effort that has gone into ensuring all children are wearing the correct school uniform, there has been such an improvement in this area of our school expectations and we appreciate your support to ensuring this is happening.
We are often looking for additional support from parents to help us with school trips or listen to children read in school. If you feel this is something you might like to volunteer for please do get in touch with us. We would require any volunteers to have a DBS in place and we would also ask that you complete our safeguarding training but this is something we could support you with.
FOSHA will be hosting a valentines disco on Wednesday 12th February. Please look out for more information to come on this!
I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Winter
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child in school please contact myself,
Mr Metcalfe or Mrs Danbury who are the safeguarding leads.
Please can we ask that your child does not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.
Please can children not play on the wooden trim trail before and after school.
Please can children not play football on the field and playground before or after school.
As the school continues to grow the playground is getting busier and busier and it is important we keep everyone safe.

What's Cooking?
I have been working with Team Nidd this week in celebration of the Chinese New Year which started on Wednesday 29th January.
The children have enjoyed making some chinese noodles and a chinese lantern.. They got the opportunity to eat their noodles with chopsticks, along with some prawn crackers and thoroughly enjoyed them! It is the Year of the Snake and the children enjoyed chatting about Chinese traditions. They also listened to some lovely relaxing Chinese Bamboo Flute music whilst they made their lanterns.
Whilst making their noodles, the children were introduced to using measuring spoons and did a fantastic job of measuring out their ingredients. They also had the opportunity to look at the EatWell Guide and will learn more about this when they go into Year 1. They also enjoyed looking at a globe so they could see where China is. All of the children worked so hard in Cook School this week, I am very proud of them all.
I will be working with Team Swale next week to continue our celebration of Chinese New Year.
