Good afternoon,
Team Calder have had another great week and have impressed me with their effort and resilience, particularly in maths.
Coming up next week:
Curriculum: we are learning about how the Vikings changed Britain.
English: we are writing a second action scene
Maths: the children will be starting a new topic on area and scaling
Science: the children will be starting a new topic on evolution and inheritance.
PSHE: the children will be learning about body image, thinking about how the media can promote certain body types and the importance of having a positive body image.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Lazenby
