Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

Team Humber have had a fantastic week exploring unknown values. They have done amazingly well in Maths and have been recording their ideas algebraically. 

Next week:

English: We will be starting an adventure narrative based on exploring an ancient Egyptian tomb. 

Maths: We will be looking at converting measures. 

Curriculum: We will be continuing our topic on ancient Egypt and looking at land use around the River Nile.

PSHE: We will be looking at the goals we have for the coming year and how to overcome any barriers we may have to achieve these. 

Science: We will be continuing our new topic on light and looking at how objects need to reflect light to be visible.

P.E is on Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework will be set this week.

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
