Good afternoon,
This week, KS1 have thoroughly enjoyed their DT day! They have used their research on London in 1666 to support designing and creating their own version of Pudding Lane. We are looking forward to having Selby Fire Service at school on Monday 6th October to reenact The Great Fire of London.
Changing books:
To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records now be sent to school on THURSDAYS.
REMINDERS:
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday.
If your child has signed up for craft club, this takes place after school every Wednesday and Lego club is on a Monday.
In Maths, Year 1 are starting a new topic on measure, with a focus on length.
In Year 2 , we are focussing on different methods of subtraction.
In Writing, we are continuing to look at information texts. Next week, we will be creating fact files about a chosen animal.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Friday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Team KS1
