Team calder & Loxley (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Teams Loxley and Calder have continued to work hard and show excellent attitudes toward their learning, especially in their work on decimals in maths.

Next week:

English: We will be continuing our adventure story and focusing on using the contracted form in our writing.  

Maths: We will be continuing our learning on decimals.

Curriculum: We will be continuing our topic on ancient Egypt and looking at what daily life was like in ancient Egypt.

PSHE: We will be thinking about where to get advice and report concerns if worried about their own or someone else’s personal safety

Science: We will be continuing our new topic on light and looking at how objects need to reflect light to be visible.

P.E is now every Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework will be set this week.

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
