Good afternoon,
What a great week for LKS2! We have all enjoyed visiting the coastal area of Ravenscar to have a lovely walk on the North Yorkshire Moors. It was great to put some of our geography knowledge into practice recognising rural and coastal features. In English we practiced writing another setting description, this time using coordinating conjunctions as our grammar focus. We worked as Scientists this week by completing an investigation to test different types of rock to see which would be the most suitable for a roof, a kitchen worktop, a skate park ramp and a statue.
Next week:
English: We will be completing our first independent write of the year! We will be doing a setting description and trying to show off all our knowledge on adjectives, expanded noun phrases, prepositions and coordinating conjunctions.
Creative curriculum: We will be looking at the question ‘Why do people live in rural areas?’
Maths: We are now completing our place value unit. This week we will be counting on across from 100 as well as practicing making 3 digit numbers in different ways and finding 10 more and 10 less than a given number.
