Computer Science Education Week has been observed at East Union since the advent of its participation in the Computer Science is Elementary project in 2019. The evolution of this activity can be noted when comparing schedules, assembly presentations, and access to materials and resources. In 2019, CSE Week and Hour of Code were new experiences for East Union Elementary students. By 2021, EVERY week is Computer Science Week for ALL students, and for fourth and fifth grade students, every DAY is Computer Science Day!

Computer Science is EVERYWHERE!
East Union Elementary students participated in a number of activities to celebrate CSE Week, beginning with a Monday morning kickoff assembly. Events included designing posters, solving Secret Sentences codes, making Binary Bracelets to code students' initials, participating in scavenger hunts, and, of course, joining the world for Hour of Code!
