Family Literacy and STEM Night and Special Guests: April 2022
The East Union Computer Science Team partnered with Title I Team members to coordinate a Spring Family Learning Event on April 11, 2022. The keynote speaker was renowned STEM educator and innovator Brian Aspinall, who also spent April 11 and 12, 2022 at East Union Elementary working with students and staff members to provide embedded Computer Science professional development while facilitating student activities using Makey Makey kits to integrate coding with various subject areas. A special treat arrived on April 12th, as author Daphne McMenemy joined Mr. Aspinall to lead literacy and coding lessons with TK-2 students using her Gracie book as a resource. These special activities served as an outstanding culmination of East Union's Computer Science is Elementary project!
