The Reading Super bowl is a fun and educational time for 3rd grade. it is where paper footballs represent time reading at home. one football equals twenty minutes. every time we read twenty minutes, another football would go on the football field in our classroom. if any footballs begin to overlap, we would have to tape footballs to a green strip of paper that would get taped onto the football field. The whole third grade Does a big party at the end. They all join down in the cafeteria and hand out awards for the people who read the most in each class. then they do an award for the person who reads the most in the grade. After that, we do different activities that have to do with the super bowl, and that way all the kids feel special, not just the kids that won prizes. The reading super bowl is also connected to the read a thon, in that they overlap in time. In our opinion, we love the reading super bowl!
Thanks for tuning in!!
