Adult Sponsors

Adult Sponsors: Thank you for taking the time to explore this opportunity. We hope you find it exciting, beneficial, and worth it. Your job is to help students with their writing. You do not write the article for them or pull teeth for paragraphs. You discuss ideas, steer direction, and edit work. You will be invited to access the Google classroom to see what is happening in the club, and you will be invited to visit the meetings on Mondays. You are NOT obligated to attend meetings or look at the virtual classroom page. Should you choose to become a sponsor, check out the Adult Sponsor page of this website. And, again, thank you for even considering this!

Discussing Ideas:

  • Articles should include the 5 W's. Have your charge identify those.
  • Articles should be interesting: Discuss ways to make writing attractive and things that are attention-grabbing.

Steering Direction:

  • Kids get crazy ideas in their heads, sometimes. It would be helpful for you to be the bumpers that keep an article's composition within the topic's scope. For example, if a student is writing about the duck laying eggs on the playground, he/she can research and write about ducks laying eggs, but not "Green Eggs and Ham".
  • Do not tell kids what to write; just steer their thinking and help their writing stay on track.

Edit Work:

  • Help kids edit their own work.
  • Help insure that publication reflects
