Español 3
*Playa Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
Hola, estudiantes de español 3. So...want to know what we'll do this year?
Spanish 3 is a pivotal year and one of my favorites to teach! You already know so much now and this year you will improve your speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills even more. We plan to cover 6-7 units this year - almost double the info from level 2. But don't worry. We expand on many Spanish 2 vocab themes (hobbies, travel, hotel, sports, fashion, daily routine...), just with a "Spanish 3 twist". In fact, up to the midterm, the grammar is mostly review mixed in with new vocab. Finally, the second half of the year is where it gets even more exciting! We will learn "el subjuntivo" and how/why it's used so much in Spanish.
Be ready to communicate en español everyday.
Be willing to try everyday. The goal Is to speak as much Spanish as possible!
You'll be ready for Spanish 4 or 4H in no time . ¡Qué bueno! :)
Our On-line textbook is Avancemos 2 (yellow book).
*Yes, we are Span 3, but the book is level 2 in the series.

*How should you study for Español 3 this year?
IMPORTANT! BE COMFORTABLE USING SCHOOLOGY! CHECK UPDATES DAILY! ALL WORK WILL BE POSTED/ACCESSIBLE THERE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
MOST IMPORTANT: Practice makes better! Study a little each day (un poco cada día). Do not wait until the last minute. Be responsible. If what we do in class is not enough for you, you must do extra work outside of class.
Make flashcards. Use pictures to give your brain a visual instead of a memorized translation. Organize vocab by theme. Look for connections to other "old" words.
Learn cognates; they make life easier.
Review vocab regularly! It helps!
Identify tricky vocab words early and give them extra study time.
Practice with a friend or family member.
Use @hometutor for unit/lesson vocab and grammar games and practices. *User and PW: Hornets20
Learn and use "the detail" words: antes de, después de, al lado de, delante de, entre, para, con, también, menos que, mayor que, mejor que... because they enhance reading and listening comprehension. They also add detail and interest to your writing.
Be sure to ask me questions in class.
