Hola, estudiantes de español 2. What will we do this year?
I love Spanish 2! Spanish 2 is a smooth transition and continuation of Spanish 1. First, to refresh what you should already know, we will do a quick, comprehensive review, which will turn into your first presentation. Then, we learn a variety of conversational themes through the year, such as chores around the house, sports, technology, and daily routine vocab, along with important grammar topics, such as ser v. estar, irregular verbs and commands. Practice makes better!
Through each lesson you will improve your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills. Watch these skills improve! You should be impressed and feel proud of yourself! Make sure to show off to your friends and family :) No doubt the most in-depth topic of the year is the PAST TENSE, el pretérito. This means that finally, we will learn how to say what we "did" yesterday, last week, last year...¡Qué divertido!
Bring your positive attitude and your willingness to speak Spanish everyday! The goal Is to speak as much Spanish as possible!
By the end of this year, you'll be well on your way to Spanish 3.

**How should you study for Español 2?
IMPORTANT! BE COMFORTABLE USING SCHOOLOGY! CHECK UPDATES DAILY! ALL WORK WILL BE POSTED/ACCESSIBLE THERE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
MOST IMPORTANT: Study a little each day (un poco cada día). Do not wait until the last minute. Be responsible. If what we do in class is not enough for you, you must do extra work outside of class.
When we start a new list, look for connections to other "old" words.
When we start a new list, identify the tricky words and give them extra study time.
Review vocab regularly! It helps!
Learn cognates--they make life easier :)
Make flashcards. Picture flashcards work best - write the Spanish word on one side; include picture/visual on the other (eliminate English!) Organize vocab by themed groups. Learn a few at a time. Match synonym/antonyms. Play matching/memory games. Save these in a shoebox for the year and review them regularly.
