About me!
About me!
*Málaga, España
I love Spanish -- speaking the language, learning about the many Spanish-speaking countries & cultures, and of course eating a wide variety of comida latina y española ;) I began learning the language in 7th grade and Spanish quickly became my favorite class. I loved it so much that I majored in Spanish in college, lived and studied in Salamanca, Spain and became a Spanish teacher. I've traveled to both Spain and Costa Rica several times with students. I traveled to Spain with Sra. Hess, Sr. Kutz and EHS students in March 2018. It was incredible! Postponed because of Covid in March 2020, we went again in July 2022 and most recently June/July 2024. *Pay attention in class for upcoming trip Info.
I also had the privilege to travel with the French and German classes in 2019. Europe is a spectacular place to visit! *See my "Fotos" page and ask me questions...I love to talk about my travels.

Teaching: This is year 27 for me! Most of my years have been at EHS, but I started in Nazareth Area School District as a middle school, then high school teacher. I have also taught courses at Penn State Lehigh Valley and for our local East Penn Community Education.
Teacher goals:
To motivate you to learn Spanish in the classroom!
To excite you to speak Spanish in the "real world"!
To encourage you to take risks as language learners!
To inspire you to travel the globe!
And...do all of these while promoting cultural understanding, diversity & acceptance...phew, lofty goals :)
My Happiness: Daily life gets busy, so I especially love and value time with my husband, my 2 daughters (also Penn Staters!), my wonderful parents, 2 sisters, 4 nieces & 1 nephew, my 2 adorable cats (Leo & Tony), my great, big, Italian family & my fantastic friends. I'm a proud sideline mom & avid beach-goer. I love traveling the world, doing yoga & pilates, cheering on Penn State, beach reading, bargain shopping, photography, art museums, concerts, making scones (Covid skill!) and eating Cali Burrito. Also...ice cream (especially coconut almond joy) can make just about anything better :)
Personal goals: I consider myself a lifelong learner, not just academically but personally. I plan to continue to learn Italian and to learn about languages and cultures. My dream is to someday explore, take pics (selfies!) and eat my way through Spain and Italy with my family. Also...I'm working on my yoga handstand, we'll see how that goes.
I look forward to a great year together! ¡Vámonos, amigos!
