Tuba players almost never need mutes, they are comically huge...

VALVE DESIGN:

Consider the type of valves you desire when purchasing your horn. Must high level instruments utilize rotary valves, because they require a shorter a about of action to operate, which in turn allows for greater dexterity in performance while using less energy.
