Local Scholarships
Requirements may differ between scholarships. Please carefully read and follow the directions for each scholarship.
All scholarships will require you to complete the scholarship profile. You may download the fillable PDF, fill it out, save it to your device, and then upload it to each scholarship you are applying for.
The Financial profile is not required for all scholarships but is the same for all scholarships that require it. You can fill it out one time and upload it to each scholarship that requires it.
The Fay T Barnes scholarship is due 5:00 pm Feb 1, 2024. All other scholarships are due by 5:00 pm on Wednesday April 3, 2024.
No late applications will be considered.
Fay T. Barnes Scholarship
Established by Fay Tinnin Fisher Barnes for "worthy and deserving students" from Travis or Williamson County
Amount: up to $3,500/year for 4 years not to exceed $14,000.
**This Scholarship application is DUE FEBRUARY 1, 2024**
Requirements: Student must attend an accredited college or university in the state of Texas. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.50 grade point average, and be enrolled in a full academic course load of 12 semester hours to continue to be eligible for the scholarship.
Selection Criteria:
Scholarship: Minimum overall "B" (85) average at graduation as determined by your weighted GPA.
Citizenship/Character: Activities, accomplishments and recommendations.
Financial Need: May be considered

The Lloyd Milliman Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Lloyd E. Milliman
Amount: $4,000
Requirements: Student must be a resident of and live in Eanes ISD and provide 2 letters of recommendation with their application. Must attend an educational institution (vocational schools, junior colleges, trade schools, community college or 4 year university) after high school.
Selection Criteria
Based on economic need, academic achievements, participation in athletic programs and/or service, & moral character.

Kelly Ann Campbell Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Kelly Ann Campbell, a 1993 WHS Graduate

Requirement: Female WHS senior with a love of writing

Martha Shannen Reid Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Eanes student, Martha Shannen Reid
Amount $3,000
Requirement: This scholarship must be used toward tuition at Austin Community College or another community college.
Selection Criteria:
Must be accepted to ACC or another community college.
Students with financial need will be given priority consideration.

PTO Service Scholarship
Amount $1,000
Requirement: This scholarship must be used toward the recipient's college education.
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrates outstanding volunteer service to WHS and our community.
Student must have all community service hours logged in skyward to be considered.

Westlake Achievement Scholarship
Amount $1000
Requirement: Graduating senior with a strong academic record
Selection Criteria:
Makes a positive contribution to WHS and the larger community.

Roy Scholarship
Amount $TBD
Requirement: Graduating senior with an above average GPA who will be attending a Texas institution of higher learning.
Selection Criteria:
Makes a positive contribution to WHS and is active in extracurricular activities
Scholastic Achievement is not the prime criterion.
Recipients shall be selected from students of average or better scholastic achievement who have financial need and the desire to obtain a higher education.

John Matysek Memorial Scholarship
In memory of former Westlake Principal John Matysek
Amount $500
Requirement: Must be a graduating senior with demonstrated leadership qualities
Selection Criteria:
Evidence of leadership and an above average GPA.

Depwe-Vance Durio Scholarship

Requirement: Graduating Senior attending a college in Travis, Hays, or Williamson County.
Selection Criteria:
Must attend a college in Travis, Hays, or Williamson County.

Westlake Rotary Club Scholarship
Amount $1500
Requirement: Graduating Senior with an above average GPA, pursuing any form of continuing education, public or private.
Selection Criteria:
Financial need (family income less than $150,000), scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities and be prepared to explain in an interview why they deserve a scholarship from Westlake Rotary.

Toody Byrd "Hugs and Kisses" Scholarship
In memory of Toody Byrd, Westlake Counselor and Director of Guidance and Counseling, Eanes ISD, 1970-1991

Requirement: Graduating Senior at Westlake High School.
Selection Criteria:
Must be accepted to an accredited college or university, involved in service projects, overcome a personal handicap or hardship, does not have to "fit in the box", must exhibit genuine love and concern for people and for learning.
Priority consideration given to students who plan to major/work in education.

Westlake Baccalaureate Scholarship
Amount: Multiple Scholarships Available, $500
Requirement: Graduating Senior at Westlake High School.
Selection Criteria: Based on one or more of the following:
Outstanding service
Positive contribution in bringing people of diverse communities and beliefs together
Involvement in religious/faith community
How to apply: Make a PDF COPY of the Baccalaureate Application, fill it out, and then upload it to the link below. Make sure to name your file LastName_FirstNameWBS. (ex. if your name is John Jones, your file name will be Jones_JohnWBS.) You must be logged into your Eanes ISD account to upload your application.
Landon Bellm (WHS Class of 2025) Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Landon Bellm. Class of 2025.
Amount: $1,250
Selection Criteria:
A WHS athlete (any sport) who exemplifies outstanding character and leadership “off the field”.
Exemplifies leadership, kindness, and compassion
Positive contribution to their teammates and/or peers

Sharad Sood Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Sharad Sood, a 2001 WHS Graduate
Amount $2000
Application opens February 5th Application due April 3rd, 2024
Requirement: Must demonstrate all-around achievement and a specific interest in and passion for soccer.
Selection Criteria:
Students do not need to be on the school soccer team to be considered.

Zoe Zuniga-Prince Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Zoe Zuniga-Prince, a 1999 WHS Graduate
Amount $4,500
Application opens February 5th Application due April 3rd, 2024
Requirement: Must present a digital portfolio of between 8-15 pieces and bring approximately 4 of their best works of art to an interview. (see Rebecca Thomas or Moira Longino for portfolio information)
Selection Criteria:
Applicant should be a well-rounded artist who displays art talent, drive, motivation, passion and skill.
Priority consideration given to students planning to pursue a career in the arts.
