Welcome to a brand new year here at Mountain View School. My name is Lisa Lewellen and I am excited and privileged to be your child’s 8th grade Social Studies teacher this year. I received my Bachelor Degree from Arizona State University and teach to the Arizona State as well as the Common Core Standards. If you have any questions regarding the content I teach, please feel free to contact me.
I was born and raised in N. Illinois. My family and I moved here just 4 days before 9/11. I love animals and being outdoors. History is my passion and I hope to make this school year fun and interesting for everyone.
My goal this year is to work as a team; teacher, school administrators, students and parents to ensure your child’s success in class. Your child’s success this year is very important to me and I will do everything I can to make sure that their time in my classroom is worthwhile, fun, memorable and filled with learning.
The vision I have for my students is that they become excited and interested about history, thrive as learners, realize how important history is to us, make connections to their own lives and become life-long learners. These young minds are the future of our country and it is my responsibility to make sure they are educated about our past and have the necessary knowledge to make good decisions for their future.
