Dear Honorable Delegates,
I extend a warm welcome to each of you participating in the 9.11 Crisis Committee at the 5th iteration of the DAEMUN conference. I am Chris Song, serving as your President, alongside Assistant President Maccalister Webb and Deputy Assistant President Tyler Castaño. It is a pleasure and honor to lead such a distinguished group of delegates.
Our committee, distinct from other GAs, offers a unique platform with diverse and engaging serial crises carefully curated to bring forth tension and suspense within our discussions. I encourage each delegate to approach these crises from various perspectives, seeking creative resolutions that may not adhere to standard conventions. In the crisis committee, your role extends beyond the surface, involving both visible and behind-the-scenes collaboration. Forming alliances is not only encouraged but essential for executing operations or instigating changes within the committee.
As diplomats and members of society, we bear the responsibility to learn from the pages of history. The theme of our conference, "Adapting to the Rapidly Changing World," emphasizes the need to acknowledge and rectify historical wrongs even in a fast-paced society. History repeats itself, but it is our duty to prevent tragedy by recalling past events and crises.
I am thrilled to witness the collective brilliance and innovative solutions that will emerge from our discussions. The 9.11 Crisis Committee is an opportunity for each delegate to contribute to a memorable and transformative experience. Let us collaborate, learn, and adapt as we navigate the challenges presented by our ever-changing world.
Safe travels to all, and I look forward to meeting each one of you at the conference.
Warm regards,
Chris Song
