About Our Programs

The DVISD Theatre Department values student creativity and leadership. Theatre is offered for students in 6th-12th grade, and at DVHS, students can also enroll in Technical Theatre. In a theatre class, students will learn acting technique, read dramatic texts, improv skills, theatre history, stage combat, playwriting, and more! In a technical theatre class, you will learn how to design and construct sets, costumes, lighting, sound, special effects makeup, and so much more. All theatre students are provided opportunities to see performances and experience theatre all across Texas.
