All DVISD students in Kindergarten-5th Grade receive high quality music instruction weekly as part of the core curriculum. In DVISD music classrooms, students develop proper voice techniques, learn how to play the recorder and various percussion instruments, attend live music performances and concerts, participate in enriching field trips, learn about theatre and ballet, and music history. Students engage in music by singing, dancing, playing and creating.

Students on all campuses have opportunities to participate in a choir program, learn an instrument such as recorder or piano, write and record music and learn about music technology.
