Job Title: Event Sponsorship Coordinator
Overview: The Durham Production Company produces regular events utilizing immersive digital technologies, including its flagship event series “Rooftops and Alleyways” which facilitates and celebrates the immersive digital arts in Durham, NC.
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Event Sponsorship Coordinator to ensure the success of our events by securing sponsorships from businesses and organizations that align with our creative vision. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a passion for arts and community.
The next event in “Rooftops and Alleyways” is “Digital Daydream”: a series of weekend workshops that culminate in a showcase festival of participants' digital immersive art creations. The workshops begin in early October 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Identify Potential Sponsors: Conduct thorough market research to identify companies and organizations that align with our event's theme and goals.
Develop Sponsorship Proposals: Create attractive and persuasive sponsorship packages that clearly outline the benefits and opportunities for potential sponsors.
Negotiate Sponsorship Deals: Engage in negotiations to secure sponsorship agreements that meet our financial needs while providing value to our sponsors.
Maintain Sponsor Relationships: Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with sponsors, ensuring their satisfaction and continued support.
Track and Report Sponsorship Progress: Monitor the progress of sponsorship acquisition and provide regular reports to the event management team.
Types of Sponsorship
We’re in need of financial and in-kind sponsors for our various events, starting with the Rooftops and Alleyways Digital Daydream in October 2024.
Sponsorships will be mutually beneficial for both parties, by providing sponsors with brand building and public recognition, including increased visibility and reputation of corporate social responsibility.
Sponsorship can be financial or in-kind, and can include collaborative work with other festivals, events, and arts organizations in and around Durham.
Pay & Commission Structure:
This position is entirely commission-based, offering a competitive 20% commission on each sponsorship secured.
Events are large-budget: our target to raise for Digital Daydream is between $60,000 and $180,000.
Beyond Digital Daydream, there will be opportunities with future events in the Rooftops and Alleyways series which will require the expertise of a sponsorship coordinator. We therefore envision this as a permanent role that will evolve into a salaried position as the series grows.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Experience in sponsorship acquisition or sales.
Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Knowledge of Digital Art: An understanding and appreciation of digital and immersive art forms is a plus.
Join us in making some memorable and successful events by bringing on board sponsors who share our passion for digital art and creative expression.
