Purpose of District Support Team

Build Leadership:

• Provide leadership and build commitment to MTSS. 

• Provide coaching structures (goal setting, data discussions, problem-solving, application, reflection, etc.) to facilitate MTSS at the school level.

Make Data-Driven Decisions:

• Analyze each school's academic data to determine the effectiveness of resources and instructional practices.

• Review district-wide data to determine if the district is meeting identified NCSCOS standards and students' needs.

• Facilitate continuous district and school-based improvement planning based on ongoing analysis of district-wide data and district needs.  

Explore Curriculum:

• Identify trends in curricular and instructional programs by continuous research and assessing needs.

• Provide a universal screener and interventions for academics and behavioral supports. 

• Analyze core instruction to determine strategies that are best used in the general educational setting that yields high-quality academic support.

• Analyze best instructional practices and pedagogy that demonstrate effective teaching methods that result in high-quality instruction. 

Support Social-Emotional Well-being: 

• Analyze attendance, behavioral/social-emotional learning to determine the well-being of students and the effects upon student learning.

Review MTSS Plan:

• Review and analyze the Muli-Tiered System of Support at least annually to revise the process based on analysis of data and identified needs. Revise the MTSS support plan if needed. 

Provide Professional Development:

• Align Professional Development to identified areas as presented by the analysis.
