Wednesday's Child

"Mother and Child" - Hailey Malik

Some are born with luck

With things and family they desired

But me I was always bitten in the butt by the black duck

Always waiting and waiting for her

Some were happy with a smile, much gay

And beautiful like a twinkling star

I was left alone for most of the day

And only watched by the dead silence of night

For some were wild and free

Occupied by the songs of the angels

Only death was something that surrounded me

And a life that was lonely and naked

For I was born on Wednesday

Great time for grieving a death

Almost on the brink

So I thought judgment day is almost moments away

But death never came to me

How long must I continue this masquerade?

My life seems nothing but deception

It's time to put an end to this deception, but I'm afraid
