"My Mind" - Jackson Pixley
Original Expectations
Lawrence Watts
I tried to walk up as calm as the sea,
But Fear inside of me was speaking loud.
I was not feeling like the bourgeoisie,
So I decided to please the big crowd.
Hands moving fast just like Michael Dwanye Vick,
I hear my heartbeat and begin to end;
Sprint to my seat as if I were so sick,
Now time to wait for the results to send.
Time has come to see who has won the race,
Name’s at the top and I am in great shock!
Classmates probably see my happy face,
And look over to see a bright red block.
At first, I was more fearful than ever;
Now, I’m lucky to make the time better.
