DEDA JSD Program

The Junior Summer Discovery (JSD) Program, "Classrooms to Careers," connects Dublin High's DEDA STEM Mentor Program students with local companies for internships, job shadows, and mentorship. Founded in 2024, JSD gives motivated, pre-screened juniors and seniors real-world exposure to your industry, and gives your company an easy, low-cost way to build a local talent pipeline and give back to the community.

Every JSD applicant is already enrolled in Dublin High's Engineering & Design Academy and has submitted a resume, cover letter, and a statement of their career goals before you ever see their application. JSD handles the recruiting and screening, so you don't have to.

• A proven track record. Every rated internship placement so far has scored 4 or 5 out of 5 on professionalism, attendance, and technical skill.

• A structured, low-risk partnership. A written agreement outlines responsibilities, safety and supervision, and confidentiality, so your team knows exactly what to expect.

• Community impact with almost no lift. JSD handles recruiting, screening, and scheduling coordination, so your investment of time stays small.

How Simple the Process Is

Step One: Tell us what you can offer. A short partnership form is all it takes: the type of role, paid or unpaid, and how many students you can take.

Step Two: JSD brings you the candidates. The opportunity goes out to Dublin High's DEDA STEM Mentor Program, and interested students send you a resume, cover letter, and a statement of their goals.

Step Three: You choose. Interview whichever candidates you like, on your own schedule, and decide who joins your team.

Most partners are up and running within a few weeks, and the whole cycle, from posting a role to welcoming an intern, fits inside the January through May application window.
