We created a gadget concept that will safely and securely capture an average household bug (such as spiders, cockroaches, silverfish) and have a way of releasing it safely outside of the house. It has a handle, a shaft, the shaft is connected to a clear box at the end, and the bug is trapped in that box. We have features such as a hinge on the box to fully move it up, a slider to slide underneath the bug to capture it and a pusher to push the bug safely if it is caught on the side of the clear box wall.

CRASH is a remote air sampling system that can be deployed at vineyards to provide researchers information on VOCs during wildfires. We implemented a time-based approach that samples the air for an hour at a time and stores the data of each hour in independent capsules, providing a far more comprehensive approach compared to modern solutions. This helps vineyard owners combat the modern crisis of wildfires tainting their crops by giving researchers a way to help advise these owners on what VOCs to avoid and how.
