Norms for Reserving & Using the building's VR/AR Kit
Please contact your Tech Coach, the Tech Coach in your building, or Rhonda Luetje to reserve your building's VR/AR Kit. When using the kit, please adhere to these norms.
- Through a Tech Coach, use the building's VR/AR Kit calendar sign out the kit with the naming convention Building SubjectGrade Teacher.Coach (Examples: KMS Sci7 Beekman.Luetje, KMS SS6 Ziraldo.Carpenter...)
- In the event description, add pertinent details... Room number(s), which equipment/apps will be used, brief description of activity and learning goals.
- Each VR/AR kit needs to remain in its assigned building.
- Prior to your activity date, plug in all iPods to ensure that updates are complete (iOS) and needed Apps are working.
- Do not modify iPods (changing app arrangement, deleting apps, wallpaper...)
- If you are using the Google Cardboard viewers, please ensure that an adult unfolds them to avoid breakage. They can remain at the students' workstations unfolded. Please don't force them or they will break.
- If using the Google Cardboard viewers with students, clearly demonstrate how to clip them onto the iPods before having them try.
- At the end of each period, please allow enough time for all materials to be collected and accounted for (10).
- iPods will need to be charged ideally between each period, but at least in the middle of the day. They will likely work for half of the day, need to be charged, then finish the day.
- Unless you are specifically working with or using the kit, it should remain locked (padlock). The Tech Coach has the combination.
