Curating 3D Objects
There are lots of 3D objects on the web. Any file that is a .stl or .obj can be uploaded into Merge Miniverse, then easily loaded into the Object Viewer app (free) on a mobile device.

This is a unique find that was associated with a podcast episode I was listening to. The podcast is about a fossil with a story. The story talks about how the scientist used clues to solve a mystery. This particular story provided a downloadable 3D scan of the fossil they were talking about. Their intent was that their listeners could 3D print this and hold it in their hands. 3D printers are expensive and scarce, so I decided to try an AR experience with Merge Cube.

If you don't have a Merge Cube nor the Merge Cube app...
- Download the Merge Cube file
- Print it
- Cut it out, fold it along the lines, and tape at the tabs to turn it into a cube
- Download the free Object Viewer app (App Store or Google Play) on your mobile device
- If asked, use the Merge Cube code of EJP 219
- Click the Load button, and enter an object code (920 2V6)
- Hold the cube in one hand while you look at it through your mobile device
