Risk management at DSWD was initially spearheaded by the Office for Strategy Management(OSM) and the Policy and Development Planning Bureau (PDPB), which laid the groundwork through risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning workshops. These activities were part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen organizational resilience and align with ISO Quality Management System (QMS) standards. The Risk Management Key Result Area (KRA) was later transferred to the Risk Management Office then to the PDPB/FMS Management Division to further institutionalize the function. Currently, this KRA is under the DSWD Internal Audit and Management Service (IAMS), ensuring systematic oversight and continuous improvement in managing risks across the Department.
