The institutionalization of process management within DSWD was initially overseen by the Office for Strategy Management (OSM) then later by the Policy and Development Planning Bureau (PDPB). The initiative involved the conduct of structured process mapping workshops employing analytical tools and methodologies such as SIPOC (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customers), swimlane diagrams, and time-and-motion studies, among others. These activities were undertaken as part of the Department’s compliance initiatives toward ISO Quality Management System (QMS) certification. Subsequently, accountability for the process mapping Key Result Area (KRA) was reassigned to the Management Division to further streamline organizational functions. At present, this KRA is lodged under the DSWD Internal Audit and Management Service (IAMS), which ensures institutionalized oversight, process optimization, and continuous improvement across the Department.
