Here's how it works.
1. Current high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible.
2. Take a phone, and a creative idea, and make a five minute (or less) short film that touches on the concept of being a "force for good".
Here are some great tips for making a film with your phone. No matter which phone you're using, check out both links (iPhone and Android). For editing tips check out these how-to-videos:
Kinemaster for Android, or iMovie for the iPhone.
3. Upload your film to the Force For Good Film Festival site on FilmFreeway.com by April 1, 2019.
4. On April 30, 2019 we'll announce the official selections online. Selected films will be screened at the ANDkids World Film Festival in August 2019 at the University of Notre Dame's Browning Cinema in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
5. A Summer Scholars scholarship winner will be selected from sophomore and junior entries. Winner is eligible to receive a full scholarship•• to the two-week University of Notre Dame Summer Scholars Program (Film Production Track) for either 2019 or 2020. (see details below for eligibility requirements)
6. A Best of Fest winner will be chosen from all entries.
7. Official Selection films will receive recognition and be screened in August along with the winning films at the ANDkids World Film Festival at Notre Dame.
8. Films must be produced and completely made by students. However, they can be produced either inside or outside a classroom environment. We encourage teachers to incorporate the Force For Good Film Festival into a class curriculum, and provide advice and feedback just like any other homework or research assignment.
