9th Grade Career Requirements:
Freshmen Academy
The mission of the DHS Freshmen Academy program is to educate and prepare incoming 9th grade students for a successful transition into high school. The academy provides a supportive environment, promotes responsibility and develops skills necessary for future success in high school and ultimately, college and career readiness.
Throughout the year, students will explore career interests, establish goals, and explore possibilities for post-secondary pathways. The Freshmen Academy exposes students to all four Dallas High School Academies and their corresponding career clusters. In combination the focus of the program also helps to develop students’ organizational skills and study habits in order for them to navigate through their freshmen year successfully.
