"Education" Exploration Day

Seniors:
If you are thinking about a career in teaching, join us and see how Wilkes University’s School of Education can prepare you for a rewarding life in the classroom.
Education Exploration Day will give students a chance to sit in on a college-level class and meet with faculty, staff and college students.
Please register by Weds. Oct. 24
Schedule:
- 9 a.m. — Check-in at the Henry Student Center, second floor
- Continental breakfast
- Meet and greet education and admissions staff
- 9:30 a.m. — Welcome from Suzanne Galella, chair of undergraduate education
- 9:45 a.m. — Presentations by Admissions, Residence Life, Student Development and Financial Aid
- 11 a.m. — Attend class
- ED 360 – Social Studies in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (PreK to 4)
- EDSP 225 – Special Education Methodology I (PreK to 4, middle level and secondary)
- ENG 120 – Reading the American Experience
- Noon — Lunch in the dining hall with Admissions staff and student ambassadors
- 1 p.m. — Attend class OR take a campus tour
- ENG 233– Survey of English Literature I (secondary English)
- 2 p.m. — Attend class OR take a campus tour
- EES 280 – Principles of Astronomy (secondary science)
- 3 p.m. — Optional meeting with a faculty member or coach (based on availability)
