Freckle Pebbles

School: Westlane Secondary School

Teacher: Mrs. Stacy Dunn-Hodges

Principal: Mrs. Karen Simpson

Artist Statement: My inspiration for my this work was my own insecurities. For a long time I was very insecure about my freckles and my side profile. I wanted to make something that showcased how much I've grown to love them and how beautiful they can be. It's kind of hard to see but I made a mistake of having the freckles come off my shoulder and I loved it so much I couldn't remove it.

Good Morning

Digital Media

School: Port Colborne High School

Teacher: Ms. Sandra Palencar

Principal: Mr. Paul Taylor

Artist Statement: I chose the name because in the piece the couple is supposed to be sharing a good morning kiss with a bit of light coming into the room.

I chose to draw this digitally because it's the medium that I'm most skilled in and the one I'm most confident with.

The idea for the piece came from a daydream I had one day.

I started by sketching out rough shapes and then sketching in some details.

Once I finished sketching I made a new layer and started working on the line art and colouring. I finished the piece by doing the shading and lighting.

The mood of the piece is supposed to be soft and warm yet romantic.

I hope the viewer can remember a happy memory with someone they care about.

This piece is significant because it shows that I am developing more as an artist.
