My name is Zeuri Anderson-Jackson, and I am a senior at Drew Charter School with a strong commitment to leadership, service, and personal growth. Throughout high school, I challenge myself to stay disciplined, work hard, and make a positive impact in my school and community. Whether through academics, athletics, mentoring, or volunteer work, I strive to develop the skills and character needed to grow as both a student and a leader.
Athletics play an important role in shaping who I am. I participate in varsity cheerleading throughout high school and compete on the varsity soccer team as a defensive midfielder. These experiences teach me teamwork, resilience, and perseverance. Cheerleading allows me to represent my school and promote school spirit at games and community events, while soccer pushes me to stay focused, communicate effectively, and support my teammates on and off the field.
I am also actively involved in leadership and service within my school. As a senior peer mentor, I guide ninth and tenth grade students as they adjust to high school. I help them manage their responsibilities, build confidence, and navigate new challenges. This experience helps me develop patience, empathy, and leadership while making a meaningful difference in the experiences of younger students.
Academically, I challenge myself to pursue excellence. I am a member of National Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, and I consistently earn Honor Roll recognition. I have also completed more than 150 hours of community service through mentoring programs, honor societies, and volunteer work as a Teen Ambassador with the Caron Treatment Center, where I support initiatives that promote smoking cessation and healthy lifestyles.
In addition to school and volunteer work, I work at Snowie Atlanta, where I develop responsibility, professionalism, and strong communication skills while balancing academics and extracurricular activities.
Looking ahead, I plan to attend North Carolina Central University and pursue a career in law. I hope to become a defense attorney so that I can advocate for fairness and help ensure that individuals have the opportunity to be heard. Through leadership, hard work, and service, I strive to continue making a positive impact in my community and beyond.
My long term goals are to attend North Carolina Central University and major in Political Science on a pre law track for my undergraduate studies. While at NCCU, I plan to focus on building a strong academic foundation while developing important skills such as critical thinking, research, writing, and public speaking. I also hope to become involved in leadership organizations, internships, and service opportunities that will allow me to gain real world experience and deepen my understanding of the legal system.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend the University of Georgia School of Law to continue my legal education. My ultimate goal is to become a defense attorney. I want to pursue this career because I believe that every individual deserves fair representation and the opportunity to have their voice heard. The legal system can be complex and overwhelming, especially for people who may not have the resources or support to properly advocate for themselves. As a defense attorney, I want to stand up for individuals, ensure that their rights are protected, and help make sure that justice is applied fairly. Through my education and future career, I hope to advocate for others, promote fairness within the legal system, and make a positive impact in my community.
