Students that chose the weather room had the opportunity to choose and research an "Extreme Weather Condition" (tornado, hurricane, drought, wildfire, tsunami, etc.), that causes major damage and destruction to communities across the globe. With the assistance of 2nd grade teachers, Ms. Almond and Ms. Smith, students researched their extreme weather choice, sketched a blue print example of that weather making harmful changes to the environment, and brainstormed ways to remain safe when faced with harmful weather conditions. Students then worked collaboratively with our extraordinary Environmental Science Instructor, Ms. Bradley, who taught students how to create animated Stop Motion Google Slide Presentations. Students used google slides, web images, and conversation bubbles to design stop motion presentations that model extreme weathers causing damage to the environment. Students concluded their presentations with either a safety plan or safety kit that will assist with being as careful as possible in hazardous weather conditions. Stay safe and enjoy our motion pictures! Check out a few of our Kodak moments below and "Click here to watch!"
