Our collaboration went well in this project. It was difficult to turn in our work on time and get together outside of school. We could do more outside of school to meet and complete our work on time. I learned how to make a stop motion and use different online tools to make characters and backgrounds. This project was very overwhelming but had a good result in the end. If I was the teacher I would make its project I little more understanding and less like the 9th Grade PBL Project.
In chemistry, we have been discussing the different types of bonds. These bonds include ionic, covalent, and metallic. Covalent bonding is responsible for the bonding of dyes and paints to papers, fabric, etc. My art above shows the covalent molecule of yeast. I chose to do this because I enjoy eating pizza and I knew pizza contains yeast. My art includes a drawing of two pizza's with yeast molecules in the middle to act as pepperonis. I created this by drawing starting with a pizza I saw online then adding the molecule in the middle. Lastly I colored it in to make it look more realistic.
As a grade level, we had a Guernica- inspired project. In groups of two, we created a piece of the painting. Addressing two social justice issues or things, "We Would Fight For". Once everyone was done we arranged the painted pieces how we would like to and took a picture.
For my artwork, I wanted to show an airplane in the sky and include my molecule - carbon dioxide - in the in the clouds. I used the principle of design repetition with the placement of my molecules and how many I placed. I think graphic designers would use some of the same tools I have learned during my time in art.
