When it Rains, it Pours by Bonnie Goodrich
This piece was very beautiful. It described the title very accurately because it reminded me of the pitter patter of rain. It included a very different technique, tuning key slides. Tuning key slides are a technique where a harpist takes a metal tuning and slide it up the string while plucking it which creates a rain like sound effect.
Fiesta by Gail Barber
This piece, Fiesta by Gail Barber, is being performed by a few members of the Urban Youth Harp ensemble. I really liked this piece because it made me feel like dancing. One special technique we used was 8va so we played the same notes an octave higher.
