Haikus for harp
My first impression of the Sparrows is that it seemed very disconnected. A challenge of putting both pieces together was that they weren't meant to sound cohesive so it was more of a mental block getting used to it. Some fun parts of putting this piece together were that we could do our own thing until the spirit told us to stop. Also, recording both pieces was fun, especially with the B roll section in "Even among insects". My favorite extended technique was doing glissandos on the action of the harp. I think our final performances of both haikus reflected them well because they showed how they were very free and had very litte structure.
