Solar Powered Balloon

For this project we were meant to create a balloon that was solar powered. Before doing the project, we learned about the Boyle's gas laws. In particular, as volume increases, the pressure decreases. We attempted to create a balloon out of a black plastic bag, as black absorbes light and heat better than other colors. We filled the balloon with air and let it heat up and then threw it in the air to see if it floated.

For this assignment we were supposed to make a piece of art that says 'chemvas' out of art/science materials. For the most part I made the letters out of art materials ranging from traditional to digital, along with a few science materials.
Mandala Research

Mandalas are used for religious purposes, usually when representing deities. It also represents the spiritual journey through the layers of the mandala and is an aid for meditation. They are related to world civilizations by being a symbol in Asian art. They are used for meditation in Hindu and Buddhist cultures and are a guide on the path to enlightenment. I can see the use of repetition with the geometric patterns, variety with the abundance of different colors, balance with how each pattern is equal, and pattern with the shapes that are being used on the mandala. You could use it to show an atoms sub particles. Specifically, the electrons. With how the electrons surround the nucleus in circles you could add a design to how the electrons are placed on the energy levels.
