Compare and contrast the muscle cell types

Notes: The sliding Filament model of contractions

The human body contains three muscle types skeletal, cardiac, and smooth each with different structures, functions, and control mechanisms. While cardiac and smooth muscles are invlolunatary, skeletal is voluntary. Skeletal and cardiac are similar since they have elongated cell types and striated. Cardiac muscles are only in the heart, skeletal muscles are connected to bones and skin, and smooth muscles line interal organs. Cardiac and smooth muscles are self stimulating while skeletal is not.

Organization of structure

For this project we used straws and construction paper to create a model of a skeletal muscle.

If you would lose 1 sense, which would you give up and why?

I would choose to get rid of the Interoception. The reason I value this sense less than the others is because I dont think our bodies ability to feel temperature is as important as some of the others. The reason I believe this is because nowadays I dont think temperature managment is as valuable as it was in the past.
