Harp

Program Notes

The name of this piece is Exploration by Harriet Adi, played by drew charter high school. One thing I like about the piece is the wonderful sound it makes and since I haven't played in a while do to covid-19 and we also have new harpist. I say I loved the way we played. In this piece the effects and techniques we used where knocks, harmonics, and gongs. This piece reminds me of like a horse running with the wind. The knocks is like the horse is galloping. The strings playing is like the wind flowing. The composer Harriet Adi was an Instrumental Exhibitioner at Balliol College, Oxford where she read Music.

About Me.....

Kristine Allen is an 9th grader at Charles R. Drew Charter school. Kristine is an member of the Urban Youth Harp Ensemble and has been playing the harp for 4 years. Allen says, "playing the harp is not only a unique instrument but a playing the harp is very peaceful and calming". Kristine has performed at her church during the holidays and has also play for her school. In a addition to harp, she also play basketball and Soccer for her school. Allen is also has a passion of helping others. She says she want to be intrapreneur and a restate developer and investor. She also plan to go to collage but doesn't know what collage she want to go to.

Arranging Project

The title of the piece is "All Of Me" by John Legend but, arranged by me (Kristine Allen). In this piece I added cords and created my own ending.
